Often going to the library is not the most fun experience. Especially during finals week, because let’s face it everyone and their mother is there during finals week. The stress levels are high are the noise levels are higher. But sometimes, even a light can shine through a library of all places. Two years ago, while in serious finals mode I took a trip to the library what I came back with was a few new songs to listen to. As I was heading for the door of the library in hopes of even finding a table to work at someone tapped me on the shoulder. The person then told me they were from a local band in San Diego and that I should check them out, handing me a flyer that read “Dynamite Walls” with a myspace address and upcoming show information. I checked them out, I’ve been listening to them since and I bring them to you today…

Dynamite Walls a local San Diego band comprised of Tom Pritchard (vox/guitar), Alex Blundell (guitar), Allan Bates (bass), Paul Kimmel (keys), and Steve Serrano (drums). The group had all been had bands prior but it is with Dynamite Walls that they felt everything finally clicked. Dynamite Walls song s will capture you and reel you in, providing words for a emotion you were perhaps apprehensive to express. Their songs are soulful and heartfelt; coming from an honest place. “I write about everyday things, the good and the bad,” says Tom Pritchard and it shows.

Their next full-length record is due in 2010.

Dude I love the library cause sometimes I would be so bored I would just listen to random music and that’s how I’ve discovered new music.
