Word of mouth is one of the most effective marketing tools there is, but often it is the skill of listening to what is being talked about that is most beneficial. I heard about today’s band through word of mouth and figured it was best to give them a listen. I was in no way disappointed with what I heard and I don’t think you will be either.
Pet Lions is an up and coming indie pop rock band from Chicago, IL. The band got in start in 2007 when bassist Shuhei Yamamoto and singer Karl Ostby began working on songs together; after Karl found Shuhei on craigslist, of course. Karl was moving to the windy city and posted an ad on craigslist looking for someone to write with and luckily Shuhei responded. The band soon came together with the additions Tom Owens (guitar/keys) and Matt Dahl (drums). In the beginning of this year they released their debut EP titled ‘Soft Right’. Pet Lions puts a modern twist on classic rock and a must watch band for the coming year. The songs are melodramatic with an undertone of narrative backed with a load of confidence.
