Words Meet Heartbeats & She (For Liz)
Hey guys! I apologize for my absence last week but holidays can be pretty hectic. I missed you though. Today’s band first caught my eye from a video posted on the ITunes fan page of Facebook (the music video for ‘under control’). The post showed up in my mini-feed and I decided “what the hell, I’ll watch the video”. What I saw grabbed me and I immediately ran out to pick up this band’s album and in no way was I disappointed.
Parachute is a pop rock band made up of Will Anderson (vox/guitars/keyboard), Kit French (saxophone/keyboard/vox), Nate McFarlan (guitar/vox), Alex Hargrave (bass) and Johnny Stubblefield (drums) from Charlottesville, Virginia. Will, Johnny, Kit and Alex have been playing together since high school. Will met Nate while attending the University of Virginia and the five soon came together to make music. The band was originally named “Sparky’s Flaw” before a name change to Parachute in 2008 after a fall out with former bandmate “Sparky”. Their debut record Losing Sleep hit stores in May of this year. The album is heartfelt and deals with an array of emotions. Their songs deal with concepts of love, loss, regret, and longing. The music is relatable and comes from the heart. Their is a real honesty to their songs and I think that is what I like most about Parachute.
I’m really liking Words Meet Heartbeats.
You can tell that their music comes from the heart.
